About the department

It is a department concerned with teaching the theoretical and scientific foundations of the effect of drugs and chemicals on cells, tissues and the entire body. And studying their beneficial and harmful effects, with the aim of improving the way drugs are tested and giving the greatest benefit in treating disease. Also, pharmacology is the basis of much research and development of new drugs. As for toxicology, it is closely related to pharmacology, but it specializes in studying the harmful effects of drugs. and other chemicals on biological systems.

Vision and Mission and Objectives

Vision 

To be a leading college in research management and train students in the fields of Pharmacology and Toxicology, as well as to be a leading regional center with a great reputation while maintaining the culture of learning.

Mission 

To graduate clinical pharmacists in accordance with national standards, who are capable of applying pharmaceutical practices and providing patient centered services, such as therapeutic monitoring, follow up of adverse drug reactions, comprehensive knowledge of drug contradictions, and the safe and effective dispense of medications.

Objectives

  • Train undergraduates and post graduates in the fields of Clinical Pharmacy.

  • Develop post graduates research programs to achieve an upper level academic degree in Clinical Pharmacy.

  • Providing professional services to the community, and on the national level for the ministry of health and professional bodies, and on an international level the world health organization and other countries and organizations.
